So I (finally!) received an invitation to join from one of the FreeBSD guys, and the system was too buggy for me to be able to register successfully. How shit is that?

From what I've seen and heard so far, Orkut seems to be the triumph of flashy web design and association with a famous name over anything useful or new or interesting. Wasn't the whole six degrees thing done to death years ago?

... and datamining. Don't forget datamining: it asks for LOTS of information about you and the terms and conditions are "all your data are belong to us".

I think that's now not the case (the terms and conditions). Though the datamining seems to be from what I've heard.
