Possibly of interest: Christ Church is actually the college's third name. It was originally called Cardinal College (after its founder, Cardinal Wolsey), and then King Henry VIII College (after... you work it out), before being finally renamed to Aedes Christi (whence Christ Church) when the cathedral was moved there in (?) 1532.
I remember r_e_mercia wrote a play a few years ago set in (she thought) the fictional St Mary's College, Oxford. She was rather surprised on the first night when I mentioned that not only was there a St Mary's College, the play was being performed in it!
