Following my previous entry, I emailed <bind-suggest@isc.org> to suggest an improvement which would allow me to do what I want directly, without fiddling with features that aren't quite the right thing. I got a reply from Mark Andrews who says that bind-9.4.0 will do what I want, according to this changelog entry:
  1798. [func] The server syntax has been extended to support a
               range of servers.  [RT #11132]

This will allow me to say the following, which is exactly what I want.
  server 192.168.0.0/16 {
    bogus yes;
  };

I think you have an excessive number of preformatted spaces to the left of your block text above.

I liked #9, yes. One of my favourite things about browsers running on X is that the browser can resize the window, but it can't lock it to tiny×tiny.

Meh. If can say "window manager, do not provide resize handles". It can then proceed to intercept resize-events and re-set its size to what it wants. So, no, it *can't* lock the size to tinyXtiny, but it can make sure it's tinyXtiny the majority of the time.

In practice, any browser doing that people will stop using!

Yes, but that's social pressure, not technical inability.

Anyway, seems as if ISC di the Right Thing.
